Bingo was the game-o on Friday April 15, 2016 when Markwell Funeral Home sponsored a Bingo event at the Casey Senior Citizen Center on 114 South Central Street.
Markwell office administrator Dee Partlow and funeral director and embalmer Millie Malone were on hand to call around 20 rounds of Bingo and had fun engaging with all of the participants and announcing winners. In fact, everyone walked away with something. Everyone received a prize, with giveaways including treats like cookies, cupcakes, and popcorn. One grand prize included a $5 McDonald’s gift card that went to one lucky person.
Markwell Funeral Home sponsors Bingo the last Friday of each month at the Casey Senior Center. This is just one of many ways the local funeral home gives back to the community.
Other recent volunteer endeavors have included fun with little ones at the Easter in the Park this past March (the Saturday before Easter) and helping answer questions related to funeral preplanning services at the Dine with a Doc program featuring family nurse practitioner Diana Oakley. Also in March, Markwell Funeral Home participated in the Celebrate Pi Day event, and before that in January, the local funeral home helped make possible the “Spill the Beans with a Tax Preparer” event sponsored by Senior Education Ministries.
Markwell Funeral Home loves to be involved in the community, especially when it comes to older citizens and providing events to keep them engaged and active with their peers. The staff at Markwell hopes to see everyone at the next Friday Bingo event.
