Summer is just around the corner, which means school will be out soon for many kids in the region. One thing many families struggle with is what to do to keep children engaged during these more relaxing months. Luckily, Casey Township Library has something planned for the entire family in the form of its Summer Reading Program.
The Summer Reading Program will take place at Casey Fairview Park Bandstand every Monday in June from at 1 p.m. and will be free and open to the public in an effort to support summer literacy. There will also be additional appearances by local entertainers.
Here’s the schedule:
In addition to providing its funeral home services to the community, Markwell Funeral Homes cares about programs like the Summer Reading Program, which benefit children and families in the area. Because of this, the local funeral home made a $250 donation to promote fun, fellowship, and literacy in the Casey, IL community.
The Casey Township Library is located at 307 East Main Street and provides free library services to residents within the Casey boundary lines. With more than 23,000 books, videos, and books on tape, this library is a great resource to natives, as well as to those outside of the Casey lines. The library also consists of five free computers open to the public, for those who don’t have their own devices.
Markwell Funeral Home is proud to be a part of Casey Township Library’s Summer Reading Program.
