On Tuesday July 21, Marwell sponsored a Dine with a Doc program which takes place every other month at the Casey Senior Center on Central Avenue. The program assists older residents with how to make more informed choices on specific topics related to their health.
During the most recent Dine with a Doc visit, audiologist Abby Wright spoke to more than 30 people about the importance of hearing evaluations and everything that goes into audiology, from diagnostic and rehabilitation services to Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing. She also had a brief question-and-answer session to address individual issues and help come up with solutions.
The free presentation included lunch that consisted of vegetable soup, crackers, fresh watermelon slices, and zucchini cake muffins.
After Dr. Wright spoke, Jay Markwell addressed the audience and spoke about Markwell’s pre-planning services and the importance of looking ahead. Markwell Funeral Home will meet with anyone to write down their final wishes and stressed how having their wishes written down or made known can help alleviate stress on their family.
In addition to these presentations, participants in the presentation also got to go home with shopping bags, Kleenex, bottled water, pens, hand sanitizers, flash lights, and manicure sets.
Markwell Funeral Home enjoys sponsoring this educational presentation every other month and also sponsors Bingo at the Casey Senior Center on the last Friday of every month, where the grand prize is a McDonald’s gift card. Join us for the next Dine with a Doc program in September. We’d love to see you there.
