Jay M. Markwell

Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

Jay M. Markwell has been a funeral director and embalmer at Markwell Funeral Homes since 1986. He is a true people person and is passionate about working and giving back to the local community. Jay enjoys connecting with families and continuing to build and grow his relationship with the public. He is also skilled at embalming and restorative art. Although he doesn’t have too much free time, when he does he appreciates playing the occasional round of golf, and is also an amateur bird watcher. His birdhouses attract purple martins that fly over 5,000 miles one way to stay during the spring and summer.


 



Dee Partlow

 

Dee is the office administrator at Markwell Funeral Homes and has worked here for over 20 years. She began working at Markwell & Son Funeral Home two weeks before she started mortuary school, and worked while commuting to school and raising a family. Dee makes sure that all administrative duties run smoothly and effectively. She has always worked in an office environment, as a manager and bookkeeper with all of the duties that these roles entail. When not working at the funeral homes, she and her husband enjoy traveling and spending time with her grown children and adorable grandsons.


 



Philip D. Winchester

Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

Philip is a funeral director at Markwell Funeral Homes. His daily duties include keeping all preneed records and allocating funeral home dollars in a structured manner. Philip is a team player and completes whatever task that needs to be accomplished. He is an extremely organized individual, with a meticulous eye for detail. Previously he worked in newspapers for 24 years, in various management positions. Philip and his wife are actively involved in their church and one of their favorite activities is hot air ballooning.


 



Bill Williams

 

Bill came to work at Markwell Funeral Home right after his retirement as the Manager of the Casey IGA in 1999. He works funerals, visitations, handles the vehicle and grounds maintenance at the Markwell Funeral Home. When Bill in not working at the funeral home he works part time as an auditor for Pepsi Co and attends all the local sporting events, especially the ones his grandchildren participate in. Bill and his family are very active in church; he has been a member for over 60 years and has served as Sunday school superintendent for over 25 years.


 



Millie Malone

Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

Millie joined Markwell Funeral Homes in November 2014 and is a licensed funeral director and embalmer. When not learning the ropes of the funeral business she enjoys hiking, camping, exercising and spending time with her family. Since she is new to the area she is looking forward to getting involved in community organizations.


 



Sandi Huelskamp

 

Sandi has been a preneed planning counselor for 28 years and has worked with Markwell Funeral Homes since 1994. She believes that there is not a better feeling than to sit at a family’s kitchen table and assist them in doing something wonderful for their families. “I have laughed, and I have cried with them,” says Sandi. Sandi truly loves her job and being a part of the Markwell Funeral Homes Family.


 



Bart Long

 

Bart has worked for the Greenwell Funeral Home since 1978 after a career in the US Marine Corp.  He works funerals, visitations and grounds maintenance at the Greenwell Funeral Home.  He is also a part time school bus driver for the local school district and volunteers at the local food pantry.  Bart is an active member of the Martinsville American Legion, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons, Scottish Rites, Shriners, Eastern Star and is the secretary of Clark Lodge #603.  He enjoys traveling especially to visit his family in Missouri and Oregon.


 



Gary Heath

 

Gary works visitations and funerals at the Greenwell Funeral Home a portion of the year. When cold weather arrives in Illinois, Gary and his wife leave for Florida for several months. In his spare time he enjoys working local auction sales.


 



Clinton Smith

 

Clinton retired in 2012 after a career as a funeral director for over 27 years.   We are fortunate he has agreed to still work part time at Markwell Funeral Homes.  In his spare time he enjoys working in his yard and remodeling.  Clinton and his wife are active in their local church, and are enjoying their retirement traveling and spending time with their dog and family.


 



Wayne Davis

 

Wayne recently retired from the Casey State Bank after a banking career of 55 years.  Although he has worked at Markwell Funeral Homes part time while working at the bank he is hoping to spend more time working visitations and funerals.  Wayne is very active in his church and community.  He is a lifetime member of his church where he has served as a Deacon for over 50 years, serves on the Board of Directors of the Casey State Bank, a member of the Casey Lions Club since 1973, treasurer of Cub Scouts of America Pack #84 and a Tote a Meal volunteer.  In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and horseshoe pitching.  He was inducted into the Illinois State Horseshoe Association Hall of Fame.


 



Ken and Mitzi Johnston

 

Ken and Mitzi have managed the Markwell Chapel in Westfield, IL since 2001. While they both maintain full time jobs they still allow time to help with visitations and funerals in Westfield. Ken is also our staff violinist. In their spare time they enjoy spending time with their grandchildren and are very active in their church.


 



Sharon Anderson

 

Sharon has been the custodian at the Markwell Funeral Home for over 20 years and has now added the Greenwell Funeral Home to her duties.  She has been a licensed cosmetologist since 1970.  In her spare time she helps her husband farm and enjoys spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.  Sharon has been an active member of her church for over 50 years and is a lover of animals (especially cats) and an advocate of animal rescue.
